At first glance, the Sori Yanagi Stainless Steel Kettle Matte may seem simple—but like any exceptional household staple, it’s the little details that make all the difference.
The kettle’s shape is thoughtfully designed for optimal heat conduction, boiling water in less time. Its clever steam-release holes ensure the handle stays cool, so you can pour without worry.
And when it comes to pouring, you’ll notice the ergonomic handle allows for effortless control, letting you pour with ease and without straining your fingers or wrist.
Sori Yanagi was born in Tokyo in 1915. His father, Soetsu Yanagi, played a key role in promoting "Mingei," or Japanese folk art—a movement that celebrated the beauty in handcrafted objects made by everyday people. Soetsu also helped found the Nihon Mingeikan, Japan’s Folk Crafts Museum.
