The perfect accompaniment for soaring temperatures? A refreshingly cool glass of homemade iced tea. Few other beverages are delightfully satisfying as homemade iced tea served in your favourite glassware, and garnished with a sprig of mint plucked straight from your backyard.
Before we get carried away romanticizing, we thought we’d share the recipe we’ve been sipping this summer and can’t get enough of!
What you’ll need:
4 cups water
4 teaspoons loose leaf tea
3/4 cup sugar
1 lemon (1/2 juice, 1/2 sliced for garnish)
Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Pitcher for serving
Glasses for serving
Instructions:
Boil water
Add loose-leaf tea* and steep (3-5 minutes)
Add sugar and let it dissolve
Add the juice of 1/2 lemon
Slice the remaining 1/2 lemon into slices
Set aside and let cool
Add mint leaves for garnish
Serve over ice** and enjoy!
*We used our Maison Itany – Balisier blend and it was perfection.
**If you’d like, you can turn this delicious iced tea into a cocktail! We recommend trying experimenting with an aromatic gin or a splash of vodka. Cheers!
